Youth Week

What is National Youth Week?

Youth Week has been a part of the NSW calendar since 1989. Following the success of the NSW Youth Week program, Youth Week became a national event in 2000, occuring annually in March/April.

Youth Week 2009 will run from 29 March - 5 April, 2009

Youth Week is a vehicle for young people aged 12 to 24 years to:

   1. highlight the positive contribution they make, and can make to the
       community.
   2. discuss ideas and raise issues and concerns.
   3. develop strategies to address the issues which concern them, and
   4. work with other community members to address these issues.

Annually more than 2000 young people across the shire are involved in the planning, development and participation of local activities and events, including HYPE festival forums, exhibitions, competition and more.
