This site has been developed with financial assistance from the NSW State Library Development Grant Program 2005 and The Hills Shire Council Cultural Plan initiatives. Noelene Pullen, the Development Officer-Local Studies for The Hills Shire Library Service, initiated the Hills Voices Online project and manages the site's continued development.
The project captures and makes accessible the stories and voices of people representing various aspects of The Hills Shire’s history and development.
Oral history recordings have been professionally recorded, and excerpts digitised, transcribed, illustrated and placed on the web together with videos and virtual tours, to showcase our cultural heritage to the world. DVD circulation copies of this site are also available for loan from our libraries. |
